We love tapping into our community for styling tips, feedback and so much more. With a new season upon us we knew it was the perfect time to see what styles they were taking into the new season and how they are styling their favorite pair of Ally Shoes.
Say hello to Katie Rushton, Founder/Wardrobe Stylist at Effortless Style. Katie is coming to us with two tips that she believes are the top tips for the fall 2024 season.
Master Monochrome for Fall: As the weather cools, lean into fall by building your outfit around rich, dark tones. A sleek black base is effortlessly stylish—think black suede heels paired with wide-leg jeans and a black and white striped bodysuit. For an added fall touch, drape a black blazer over your shoulders; it not only adds warmth but also layers in that perfect amount of autumn sophistication. This combo is ideal for those crisp fall days when you want to look polished and stay cozy!
Play with Proportions: Wide-leg jeans are a fall must-have, and they pair perfectly with fitted tops like bodysuits to balance the volume. To elevate the look, add a tailored blazer over your shoulders—this not only adds structure but also creates a flattering silhouette. Don’t forget to finish with statement heels, like the black suede ones you’re rocking, to add height and polish to your fall ensemble.
Next up is Kay Harms the woman behind Dressed for My Day. Kay has the simple tip of always have a transitional fall outfit on hand. A transitional fall outfit is a must-have when the cooler temps hit in the morning and the evening, yet somehow the daytime sun really warms you up. Once September hits, for me it's time to bring out the boots. A simple outfit to get you through the day is a pair of ankle boots with just the right amount of height, straight or wide leg denim and an easy to wear jacket that can be easily taken off. In this example we are really going for practicality. The Ally Shoes, lower block ankle boot elevates the outfit while always being practical and stylish.
Jessica from Chic Professor has been supporting Ally Shoes since our inception. We love seeing how she's styling herself for all of the seasons of life. As we enter into this fall season she's listing out her top tips.
Fall Colors: I am the first to rely on black and while it will always be a fall go-to color, I try to add in something a bit more interesting with deep saturated fall colors. Burgundy is my personal favorite but anything that is dark, moody, and brings in the colors of the flora and changing leaves will be the perfect addition to your outfit.
Balancing Proportions: It is easy to cover your whole body in fabrics as the temperatures begin to drop but balancing the oversized and covered portions with showing some of your shape or skin can add a youthful element to your outfits. For instance, I love a good turtleneck sweater but try to pair them with a bottom that promotes an hourglass shape-high waisted wide leg pants with a belt perhaps- or an ankle length pant and pushed up sleeves. This way you don't get completely lost under all of that fabric!
Layer with a Blazer: Everyone always loves to focus on Fall layers and with good reason- they're cosy, practical, and add interest and texture to your outfit. My personal favorite layering piece is a blazer. It always adds the perfect touch of sophistication and different silhouettes give off completely different vibes. I personally love a tailored blazer that highlights my waist which can often get lost in a sea of oversized pieces.
We are going to the other side of the world to Virginia from What Vee Wore. "Living in opposite seasons (I'm from Australia!), I found myself embracing a lot of brown. It's a great neutral tone, an added plus is that you match the Autumn foliage, and you can still inject your own personal style into your outfit by playing around with different silhouettes and textures. My mocha suede kitten heels got a decent run!"
